How to Get to Juliet’s House in Verona (Train, Bus, Foot & Car)

Where exactly is Juliet’s House?

Current public entrance (from 1 April 2026): Teatro Nuovo, Piazzetta Navona, a short walk from Via Cappello (Visit Verona; Casa di Giulietta – Comune di Verona).
The house sits inside the pedestrian historic centre, near Piazza delle Erbe and a short stroll from Piazza Bra and the Arena. No city bus stops at the door. The final approach is always on foot.
Before you go: tickets for Juliet’s House are sold exclusively online. There is no ticket office at the entrance for walk-up sales on the same terms as pre-booked entry. Book your official tickets so your slot is confirmed before you leave the station.
By train: Verona Porta Nuova
Verona Porta Nuova is the main station and the right stop for almost every visitor (high-speed and regional services).
Walk (about 20 minutes)
- Exit the station and head north on Corso Porta Nuova.
- Continue to the Portoni della Bra gates and enter Piazza Bra (Arena on your right).
- Take Via Mazzini (main shopping street, pedestrian only).
- Turn toward Via Cappello / Piazzetta Navona and follow signs for Teatro Nuovo.
The walk doubles as a first look at Verona: Arena, Bra, and Via Mazzini in one straight story. Cobbles are generally smooth and the gradient is gentle. With large rolling luggage, many travellers store bags first (see below), then walk light.
Bus from the station (about 5 minutes + short walk)
ATV city buses 11, 12, and 13 run from the station area toward Piazza Bra (Arena). From Bra, walk Via Mazzini and on to Piazzetta Navona (roughly 5-10 minutes). Buses do not enter the ZTL around the house. Pay contactless on board where available, or buy a paper ticket at a station kiosk and validate it when you board.
Day trips by rail
Verona sits on the Milan–Venice corridor, which makes short visits realistic:

Porta Vescovo is closer on a map for some regional trains but has fewer services and weaker luggage options. Prefer Porta Nuova unless you already know your connection.
On foot from the historic centre
If you already stay near Piazza delle Erbe, Piazza Bra, or Via Mazzini, you are minutes away. From Piazza Bra, Via Mazzini leads you toward Via Cappello and Piazzetta Navona. Follow local signage for Casa di Giulietta / Teatro Nuovo once you are on Via Cappello.
By taxi
Taxis cannot drive into the pedestrian core around the house. Ask for a drop at Piazza Bra or the edge of the ZTL (for example approaches near Via Pallone), then walk the last few minutes on flat ground. For reduced mobility, this combination (taxi to the ZTL edge + short walk) is often simpler than the full station walk.
By car
Do not drive into the historic ZTL without authorisation. Cameras enforce the zone; rental companies pass fines to drivers with fees.
Park at a paid peripheral garage or lot, then walk or take a short taxi to Bra:
- Areas commonly used by visitors include lots toward Arsenale / Cittadella and south-bank options such as Piazzale Re Teodorico (walk times typically about 10-15 minutes depending on lot).
Set your navigation destination to the car park, not Via Cappello 23, so the app does not route you through restricted streets.
Luggage, mobility, and timing
Luggage: Porta Nuova has left-luggage options (including station KiPoint-style services with daytime/evening hours). Hotels in the centre usually hold bags before check-in. Visit the house without a suitcase on cobbles if you can.
